You should certainly check them out, and if you find them to be decent or even better alternatives to your current Windows selection, you might want to reconsider, what do you expect of your operating system and your work environment and maybe the next time when you need to renew your Windows license, give Ubuntu or some other Linux distribution a try. You can even test most of the major Linux distributions by live CD with no “obligations” whatsoever, while it doesn’t even touch your current operating system or other hard drive data.
